I’m Catholic, and isn’t the Catholic Church’s message always been “breed, breed, breed”. Is this why so many Catholic families are so gosh darn large?
I’m 32, single with no children. It costs $100,000 to raise a child from birth to age 18, and in this recession I just don’t understand why people continue to get married and have kids, and then later complain (as GW Bush once said) about how hard it is to put food on their family.
No anti-Catholic comments please! I’ve heard enough of those. Serious answers only.

I have a 65 lb. dog who yesterday started wincing and having a hard time going up stairs, out of the blue. Took him to emergency vet, did x-rays, said it may be spondyliosis causing the pain, otherwise everything else checks out. No signs of arthritis or trauma. (We are thinking it may be a pulled muscle, but who knows for sure). Dog is about 7 (rescue, so not sure of exact age). Vet gave me some anti-inflammatory pills but pup is still in pain when he rises or attempts stairs. Thought I should try getting him on glucosamine immediately – what dose is safe to give him, as I plan to get them at the local health food store, not pet store? I will be returning to vet Monday if he is still in pain, but thought the glucosamine would not hurt to be started immediately.

Research studies have been focusing a great deal in recent years on determining which kinds of foods have the most extensive anti-aging attributes. One factor which has assisted this process has been the invention of the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbing Capacity) score for food items. This sophisticated-sounding name just means to the overall antioxidant levels for a particular food and it’s latent potential to absorb the various free radicals which are responsible for so muc cell damage and premature aging. Certain foods that we eat which have been singled out as having a very high antioxidant include such items as black beans, strawberries, sweet potatoes, irish potatoes, pomegranates, most leafy green vegetables, pumpkins, zuchini, squash, cherries, raspberries, blackberries and many other kinds of berries.
One berry that certainly stands out from the rest is the goji berry, obviously from which goji juice is made. It’s Latin name is Lycium Barbarum or just Lycium. Goji berries are so wonderful because to their balanced polysaccharide profile.

The global functional foods market continues to develop at a fast pace with growth outstripping that of conventional foods, and product innovation rife. The EU Nutrition and Health Claims Directive’s strict approach to health claims however will clearly influence the future development of the sector, and heightens the need for the latest intelligence. Anti-ageing products such as foods that provide a cognitive benefit or skin health-promoting ingredients tap into one of the biggest shifts the food industry faces: the ageing consumer base. This report covers developments in the US, Japan, Australia and Europe, including latest market data and key market drivers, product trends, the regulatory environment, ingredients and patents, and future prospects.

If you want to fight aging, you have many different options as far as which method you would like to use to stay looking young. One of the easiest (and most natural) methods is to adjust your diet. You don’t have to give up the foods that you love; all you have to do is add several anti aging foods to your diet on a regular basis and you can fight off the effects of aging for several more years. These work by providing your body with various nutrients and antioxidants that help keep your skin smooth and get rid of toxins. The best part is that many anti aging foods are quite tasty, too!
Some of the best foods to include in your diet are blueberries, cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, apples, and cherries. The great thing about these fruits is that they taste great! Yes, prunes are very healthy too, but they aren’t often a favorite among the general population. These fruits are very tasty and can easily be worked in to your meal. In fact, having a “fruit salad” for dessert that is made up of these fruits could possibly be the healthiest part of your meal.

Obesity is a problem which a few other children also face in our family. My son is very fond of eating. but seeing his condition we as parents try to give him low calorie food. His height is normal. Mentally he is sharp and gets good grades in the school. Is very sensitive about his appearance and has a great desire to get smart and slim. His urge for the food is more than the kids of his age. We have conducted his thyroid tests which were found normal. He faces a lot of problems pertaining to respiratory infection and has to be given strong anti biotics every odd month to get over with disease. he was born premature with almost 6-7 week left in his DOD, was weighing then only 2.5 Kgs. VItal signs were normal. Some of the doctors here in Pakistan think that he is a case of Pickwickian syndrome but after studying on the syndrome I am not convince. Please help us make our child live a normal life. God bless you
