is it okay to use anti-aging lotions when breastfeeding?
i know you aren’t supposed to use them when pregnant due to the synthetic A vitamins, but can they be used after the baby is born, when breastfeeding?
if they DO something to the milk i WON’T use them… hence ASKING if they are fine to use… i’ve already NOT used them for 9 months because i know the excess vitamin A can cause birth defects, HOWEVER, i’ve not ever heard anything about it being in breastmilk BUT i wanted to make sure (scheduling a future mail-order, deciding whether to get a new bottle)
i really only want to use some on my face / eyes… once a day

Why can’t you just stop using them until you stop breastfeeding? Are you REALLY going to age that much during the time you are BFing? (although you might feel 100 at times). Don’t worry about aging, enjoy your time witht he baby.
It’s not that it’s bad for the baby, it’s just that babies prefer to smell their mother’s “scent” when breastfeeding. Your baby may be one of the only people who prefers you without any perfumes at all, so he can smell just your milk and the oxytocin you release during breastfeeding that encourages bonding with him/her.
Edit: it’s fine then. I just wouldn’t put anything with perfume on my chest. I wouldn’t worry.
No, there is no risk associated with those type of creams while breastfeeding.
I wouldn’t risk it.
“Topical use of Retin-A (tretinoin) is generally considered compatible with breastfeeding. Per Thomas Hale, PhD (Medications and Mothers’ Milk), “absorption of tretinoin [Retin-A] via topical sources is reported to be minimal, and breastmilk concentrations would likely be minimal to none.”

That said, I’m still holding off on using it — not out of fear for the milk, but because I spend so much time giving kissies, etcetera, that I’m sure I’d get some on my baby…
